About the Knights of Heartland
"There is a distinct difference between a King and a Lord. When a Lord is not but a highest ranking knight for the King's army, it is the highest ranking knight in its own army."

For many generations, the Flaxrown Grasslands were claimed in the name of the Flaxrown Kingdom. What started as but a family of dogs grew into an empire of strong and passionate dogs ready to defend their King and Queen to the very end all thanks to power that didn't lie in the muscle; but the heart and mind. It was a true testament to how far things done in kindness and good intent can go.
But things started to go astray at the top of the hierarchy. The Last Queen, grief stricken by the loss of her only son was unable to go on. The pack was slowly falling into anger and chaos when a few more humble dogs abandoned their pride and search for outside help.
Fortunately, they were able to find a dog that could help them far more than they expected. Kairos, a 2nd generation Basal working under the government organization HERD had decided the best way to execute his duties was to break tradition and find his own way. He came to the falling Kingdom and eased the anxiety with a passionate speech, opening their hearts to their unlikely hero. The Kingdom was over its head in complicated circumstances that could only be solved when he took position of as leader. From there, he made a pact between the reformed pack and HERD that evolved into the first officially human-allied pack to be created in Canaria.
The Laws and The Ideals
"Even when the Kingdom falls, no matter how eroded and crumbling the castle walls become, if the the hearts stay strong, the knighthood will remain strong."

The Knighthood's ways are divided so there are 3 rules in The Order of Heartland and 4 ideals of The Heartland Creed. Orders are rules that must be followed by any canine who pledges loyalty to the pack. Failing to follow The Order can result in severe repercussions such as being deranked, exiled, or even gaining the title of scorned. Members who are scorned are more than exiled; they are chased from the land. The Flaxrown citizens and allied packs are updated to the profile of the scorned and told not to assist them in any way. Needless to say, these three rules are very important to follow.
1. Do not conduct business, share pack information, or negotiate with any other pack without first informing and getting permission from a superior.
2. Do not fatally injure or kill a dog who isn't currently on a warring faction or threatening the lives of you and company.
3. Do not use your rank, power, or reputation to force anyone to partake in an action or situation against their will.
The Heartland Creed are just as strongly enforced minus the known consequences of Orders. It is the ideals that are expected to survive so long as the pack exists. If ever they stray from these ideals, its members from Heartlanders to Lords and Ladies, perhaps even outsiders, must do everything in their power to bring the pack back to them in any way necessary. While canines are free to believe otherwise, it is hard to make it to great heights in the pack if your actions do not reflect these beliefs.
1. No dog's life is worthless, for sacrifice, or for bartering purposes.
2. Your packmates are your family. No fight is worth hurting or holding a grudge over.
3. Helping doesn't always leed to a reward; as a pack of charity, expect to help others for nothing in return.
4.Your ultimate motive is to improve the quality of life in Canaria with unity, charity, and good intentions.
Heartland Customs and Allies
"For too long we have held the belief that power comes from a single or pair of leaders that are so close to perfect. The only way a perfect power can be made is when many individuals like yourselves support each other by covering one's weakness with another's strength."

The Knights of Heartland are unique in that the best things they have to offer are not exclusive to the pack members. Many of the higher ranking members will go as far as to leave their pack to help others. The loners who travel through the heartlands without wicked intentions can always count on receiving assistance from the pack.
The closer of the two allies is the seaside town of Flaxrown. More known members of the pack can visit the town and be treated with the highest form of hospitality from the humans and their canine companions.
They are also allied with a government organization located in Starlet City called the Humanitarian and Ecology Reservation Department that makes sure that the Wastelanders conditions progressively improving with the assistance of canine workers called HERDers. Kairos, the Knights of Heartland founder is also a HERDer who has been stationed to care for the Heartland area. Through the unification of the two bodies, he created allies raised and trained to hold the same helpful and kind attitudes as the pack he is trying to maintain. In its current, testing state, HERD is only observing the pack to ensure that it is upholding the standards it has set out to make. But if the pack takes flight, it will begin to provide care and services that could very well redefine what it means to be in a pack.
