A calm lake in the valley is cradled by the Goss Mountains. Towards the southern end, it leaks into the slow-moving Silver Creek, which gains in speed as Mist River adds to it before it tumbles down Silver Falls.

The morning usually brings a light mist over the river. Mist River runs from the mountains and a branch empties into the Eeley Sea while another meanders through The Farmland, meeting up with Silver Creek before rushing down into the Silver Falls which finally empty into the northern horn of the Pronged Sea.
