The northmost laboratory and research base, Snowpoint provides one of the few shelters from the blizzards and perils of the Frozen Empty. Under the snowblown drifts are forgotten relics of the past.

In the Frozen Empty, there is no clear shore, as the ocean has a thick crust of ice on top. Parts of the Ice Floes crack and move underfoot when the ocean is being particularly treacherous that day.
