[attr="class","guidebooktitle"]Frequently Asked Questions
[attr="class","guidebookbody"]Below are just a couple of common questions that occasionally get asked or else just anything I felt like explaining. I'll add more to it as people ask more questions.
[attr="class","guidebooksubtitle"]General Site Questions
[attr="class","guidebookbody"]Why make a Sci-fi dog rpg? Where did you get the idea?
[break]
I'm a huge fan of science fiction and I love roleplaying dogs. I decided to combine these two loves into something awesome. I also wanted to do a new spin on the post-apocalyptic, and I wanted the dogs to still have interactions with people.[break][break]
This site is Account Per Character. Can I make an OOC account?
[break]
Sure, if you want. I know tons of people like to have one. You can also have a go-to character account you check regularly for PMs. You also don't have to log into all of your characters every day if you don't want to. BTW, an easy way to switch is to click on the tiny icon of the two people. It's in the little bar on the bottom right of the screen.
[break][break]
What about a monetary system? Will you ever implement one?
[break]
Everything is free to use for plot purposes. I really want the players to feel like they have full freedom to plot. Anything special or rare (non canine characters, etc) are won through contests.
[break][break]
Can I be staff?
[break]
Put in an application and if I need another staff member and you fit the bill, then yeah. I'm more likely to choose applications from active members.

[attr="class","guidebooksubtitle"]Character Questions
[attr="class","guidebookbody"]Why no wolves or wolf-dogs?
[break]
The premise of the site is that the planet is newly terraformed. What this means is that the planet was artificially created. The humans would not release wolves all over a newly formed planet they are populating. In fact, most large predators are largely absent and are replaced by mutated creatures and rogue machines.
[break][break]
Can I make a Watchdog character?
[break]
There is a max number of free Watchdog characters. Make sure to put in their history how they found their Watchers. Remember that Watchdogs can be freely made via plots without a limit. It's super easy.
[break][break]
Where is your Banned and Encouraged list?
[break]
We have none. I feel that you should make the dog you want to make.
[break][break]
I need someone to look at my character!
[break]
Staff should be accepting characters in a timely manner. If you are having trouble, just poke a staff member in the cbox. We don't bite!
[break][break]
Can I draw my own character?
[break]
Yup, if you want to!
[break][break]
Can I make a Mutant Augment/Esper Watchdog/[insert cool idea here]?
[break]
Sure, just provide an explanation about how it happened. If unsure, shoot me a PM.
[break][break]
Can my dog communicate with people and other animals?
[break]
Normally, dogs cannot communicate with other species. But Espers can develop their powers to be able to do so, Watchers (Chough models especially) can be used, and Augments can even upgrade themselves to do so. So basically, if you can explain it, you can make it work.

[attr="class","guidebooksubtitle"]RPing Questions
[attr="class","guidebookbody"]Can I post my character in first person?
[break]
Post however you want, as long as it's easy to understand and fun to reply to.
[break][break]
What codes do you have for posting tables?
[break]
I just have the Style Tags plug-in. If you want more codes, just request them and shoot me a link.
[break][break]
What is the word count on this site?
[break]
There is no specific word count on this site. Just avoid one-liners, read your partner's posts carefully before you reply, and give your RPing partner enough to work with. So, just do basic RPer's etiquette.

[attr="class","guidebooksubtitle"]Canaria Questions
[attr="class","guidebookbody"]So, what happened to the people exactly?
[break]
A mix of things. Disease, lack of support from the established colonies on other planets, disasters, a string of bad luck, and the release of mutated creatures onto the land.
[break][break]
Where are the humans now?
[break]
They tend to travel around. There is an established colony in Starlet and they are a little better off, but most are nomadic. Many humans have Watchers. The nomads tend to travel in groups on foot or using horses and cattle. Rarely is a human on his or her own, but it can happen. A lot of humans make rest stops in the towns and hide in different buildings. They tend to keep out of the way.
[break][break]
The Year is only 310. Isn't this the future?
[break]
Yup. But the settlers lost track of time except for counting how many years ago their landing was. The Year is 310, give or take, but the established Year 1 was 310 years ago.
[break][break]
So, I read about special locations. Where are they?
[break]
Scattered around Canaria. They are hidden away and usually "found" by replying to a Happenstance thread. But you can just start your own thread finding them, too.
