-John- 'Are you quite certain that you want to go through with this?' A hovering chough questioned their young and hopeful owner. It wasn't an uncommon thing between Kairos and his watcher, but the later was especially persistent today. Kairos kept shrugging the machine off and smiling all the while.
'I understand that you want to develop him into a more functional member of your pack and also coalesce your pack and HERD aspects of your life, but going about it this way at such an early stage is-'
"Hey John, lets hang out today." Kairos called from across the plains, completely disregarding his mechanical partner. He sprinted his way across the thick and fresh grass, dew catching against his short fur in the process until he was feet away from the knight. Fortunately for Kairos, he was fairly easy to find. John had a routine that he liked to follow. Kairos enjoyed his organized way of living and vaguely acknowledged that he would have to adapt that habit as well if he wanted to be a great leader.

John had his routine. His body was always in good shape because he practiced different exercises to maintain his body's conditioning. The exercises he used where lifted completely from human ones, though the form of some of them were different than what Kairos would be used to seeing, as these were passed from dog to dog until they were changed. Like a game of telephone, when the original phrase was transformed. John had finished his sprint and a few of the less effective exercises. He was now in a steady beg position, his hind legs square under him, his forelegs tucked close to him, the line of his back perfectly straight. He did this one correctly. His core was strong as a result and a strong core helped him be a strong dog. He had to be with the sheer weight of him. [break][break] He was focused on his task and saw that Kairos was approaching. He lowered his body from the sit-pretty position. His paws carefully landing on the fresh grass. And he lifted up into a standing position. It was a smooth, well-practiced motion. It was the Rex of his pack. The sighthound mix's ears pinned back when Kairos invited him to hang out. He wasn't sure what to make of that. What if he messed up? What if he did something that made Kairos kick him out? But, at the same time, John couldn't manage to say he didn't want to hang out. Because he really would. [break][break] "Um, okay," John said. "I juh-just need to, um, cool down." He was talking about his muscles. He moved in a trot around Kairos. His body moved efficiently and lightly despite his deceptively heavy frame. Muscles worked efficiently, easy to watch thanks to his short coat and tight skin. He enjoyed focusing on his movement and once sufficiently cooled down, he stretched into a low bow and then each hind leg. He breathed deeply. And then moved to stand in front of Kairos. He wasn't sure what hanging out entailed and was more than a bit nervous. His heart was beating quickly and he kept his eyes averted.
Ah yes. Maybe just rushing up to the nervous dog wasn't the best action to take. He acknowledged that John had a routine and respected it, yet was asking him to break it in mid motion. Another thing he would have to work on is thinking out his actions a little more, but he would have plenty of time to learn. For now, Canaria was peaceful, calm, and free as far as packs were concerned, and he was looking forward to getting out to the Heartlands and see what he was working with. John was back to being a little bit nervous around Kairos, but he agreed to joining him, which meant he was willing to go out of his comfort zone. The young Rex smiled, rolling his shoulders and remarking "Take your time, pal."
"By the way, you have to teach me those moves sometime." Kairos added as an afterthought. Φsiqe hovered close by, fully alert and ready to take action. He motioned his head to tell John to follow him as they walked northwest towards the coast and Flaxrown. "What do they do for you? Are they stretches? Exercise? Meditation?"

John only knew them as what his mother had taught him. Mornings were this unless he and his brother had been given orders otherwise. It was a remnant that carried over to his new life. He was a bit nervous to access the part of his memory that knew what they were, but after awhile, he managed. "Mm-my mother taught, uhm, them to m-me." He focused on the words he was saying, trying to get them out. He wished that he could speak freely. There was so much he wanted to say. [break][break] "I can teach yuh-y-you some." He slowly stopped and bent himself so that his nose touched his thigh. His body looked like a tight little circle. It was something that many dogs could do, but the manner in which John did it showed a sort of elegance, flexibility, and awareness of his body that was unique to him. He had to keep his body limber. It was a body that was far heavier than it appeared. And, should he not work on it, he could easily become stiff and sore. "A stretch." He explained, not bothering with an entire sentence. He did it on the other side to stretch out that side, too. [break][break] "Suh-some are uh." He lifted himself into the sit-pretty position again. "C-c-c-c-c." Deep breath. "Core muh-muscles." John raised his eyes and let the cybernetically enhanced eye scrutinize Kairos's own body. The dog was fit. There had been human directed training on this dog. Which meant that he had been conditioned to have a strong body. John's body would be stronger if he didn't have to work with the weight of his metal-reinforced bones. [break][break] He lowered his body again. He started walking backwards and then did a backwards scoot-run. He was getting so excited and nervous. This was something that was a bit foreign to him--explaining his morning routine. He had already scattered around the explanation. He went to the next one, lowering to the ground and crawling, making sure to keep his hips as low as he could. [break][break] Soon, he felt his body vibrating with the need to let loose and he started sprinting in fast, crazy bursts to relieve the tension. His ears were pinned back as he ran, butt tucked. Zoomies characteristic of an overstimulated puppy. His eyes were round and his pupils dilated. When he stopped, he looked embarrassed.
