Description:
Aoife's not a large dog, but more than makes up for it with her fire. And every part of her evokes that image. The red-gold terrier isn't a tiny dog by any means, but is comfortably within the medium sized range for height. The touch of hound in her gives her a sharp nose and a musical voice. She weighs around 25lbs, and is mostly sinew and muscle underneath her naturally tousled coat. She has dark eyes and almost always wears a bright, eager expression. She has a dark nose, keen in its sense of smell. Aoife moves with efficiency and an elastic, jaunty gait. She seems to never ever be completely still and is very chatty. She has a soft, but husky voice. She is known as a good singer and as a warm, sweet singing voice.
Personality
Skills: Hunting, fighting, tracking, singingAbilities: n/a
Description:
Bright and eager to do anything, Aoife is a rash creature who does first and thinks later. She is kind-hearted, but comes across as hot-blooded. She does have a delicate side, as she is appreciative of nature and has a beautiful singing voice. She fully enjoys the traditions of her pack and loves showing that even a plucky little terrier mix can survive out in the harsh Northlands.
She's a well-skilled huntress and enjoys her craft. She loves the work of tracking the beasts and working with a team. She loves the sport of taking down a difficult quarry or surviving a difficult foe. She has a good nose and sense of adventure, doing daring things for the sake of the challenge and it is that reason she hasn't yet improved her rank despite making it through the Winter Survival Test. She's intelligent and resourceful, but gets herself into too much trouble to fit in a higher rank. Despite not being a pup anymore, she comes across as childish. With her eagerness and optimism.
Aoife has a strong sense of justice and is definitely a do-gooder. If someone needs help, she's on top of it, working out ways to help them out or ease them. However, she is relunctant to accept help, even if she needs it. It isn't that she is an introvert, but instead, it is just that she doesn't want to burden others with her own pains. So, she sucks it up and does her best. She's a prideful little thing and always wants to show off, do her best, push herself.
She puts on a happy face almost all the time. Most of the time, she is honestly that eager. But when she feels saddened or unable, she still keeps up the happy-go-lucky act. Only close friends can read through her facade. She is an over-sharer at times, bringing up past experiences as stories and just giving too much information at times or being awkwardly forward. She's quick to kiss, quick to love, and quick to get hurt, but also quick to pick herself back up again. Resilient and eager to live her life to the fullest, even if she acts a fool doing so.
History
Lineage:Father: Griff | Basal | Harrier x Irish terrier | assumed to be deceased
Mother: Tarin | Basal | Lakeland terrier x Patterdale terrier | deceased
Sibling(s): Hamish | Basal | Lakeland terrier x Patterdale terrier x Harrier x Irish terrier | deceased
Iris | Basal | Lakeland terrier x Patterdale terrier x Harrier x Irish terrier | alive
Background:
Born in the Winterwood pack between Griff and Tarin. She was in Tarin's third litter. Her first litter consisted of Iris, her second ended up no puppies had lived, and Tarin died soon after the pups were born in her third litter. Two mounds of fur: Hamish and Aoife. At the time, Griff was still alive, but mourned the loss of his mate. He'd go out on long journeys at a time, leaving Iris to take care of them. In addition, Aoife and Hamish were passed between two females (with their own litters to worry with) for their fill of milk. Though Aoife grew strong, Hamish remained weak until he died.
Aoife often sang as she learned how to be a member of Winterwood, encouraged by her older sister and, once she became better, the other members of the pack. She wanted her father's attention her entire life and it grew up to her always needing to be the center of attention and quick to try dangerous things. Look at me, daddy! She grew up the spitting image of her mother, even having her smile and twinkling, mischievous expression. And Griff would sometimes visit, sometimes remark that his daughters were his and he was proud of them before heading off again. He couldn't stand to look at Aoife because he'd always see Tarin and remember the son he never got to know.
Aoife left to take the Winter Survival Test to show her father that she could do it. Griff never returned, but Aoife still hopes to see him come back some day. While Aoife remained whole and resilient through it all, there are moments when it all catches up to her and she just has to sit back and wonder, how she went through all of this.
